A different approach to healthy living education means fun and learning for youth and their families in Northwest Minnesota.

A weekly online meet-up for children has encouraged healthy living at home for the whole family.

Although COVID-19 changed how we socialize with others, 4-H maintained steady opportunities for families to learn, make connections and find joy in their communities. 3,520 youth engaged in 4-H programs across Northeast Minnesota last year.

Last year, 11,772 youth explored leadership through 4-H programs like Minnesota State Ambassadors and 4-H Dairy Project.

The University of Minnesota Extension recently launched a new opportunity for teens. The Minnesota 4-H Agriculture Ambassador program is a year-long experience for youth to refine their leadership skills, explore and advocate for agricultural issues, and expand their professional network.
Physical activity, especially outside, is a key factor in youth health and wellbeing. Minnesota 4-H offers youth of all ages a variety of opportunities to explore and develop healthy living practices outdoors.
