What are projects?

4-H is all about project-based learning. What are you into? From animal science to creative arts, and more, there's something for everyone. Choose something that interests you and dive in.

Watch this video about what a 4-H project is to learn more (YouTube).

Parents and other adults: Find out why 4-H is all about project learning (Google Doc) and explore the youth development curriculum library to enhance project learning.

Animal science projects

Learn how to raise, feed, care for, judge, train and show different species of animals, or explore careers working with animals! For some species, animals may be owned or leased, so you can do a project even if you don't have your own animal.

General projects

Choose a project and learn all about it. You can then create a 4-H exhibit to show at the fair or other showcase event to demonstrate what you have learned in the project area. You can also track your project learning and experiences with 4-H project record keeping.
