Forests in north-central Minnesota face many stressors such as native and non-native insects and diseases, over-competition, and climate change. But proactive management can improve their health, resilience, and long-term value. Learn about common forest health issues and strategies and resources you can use to improve the health and resilience of your woods.
We will be indoors for the first half of this workshop. For the second half, we will be standing and walking outdoors on forest roads, trails, and in the woods. Please bring water, bug spray, sunscreen, and anything else that you'd like to have for a couple of hours in the woods, such as hiking poles or a trail stool. Water fountains and restrooms are available at the North Central Research and Outreach Center. Snacks will be provided.
