Loll Family
The Loll family farm began in 1969 when Stanley Loll moved near Great Bend, North Dakota, to start farming. In 1988, his son Rick Loll relocated to Campbell to expand the operation. In 2004, Rick’s son Ben purchased a nearby farmstead, further growing the family’s presence in the Campbell area. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Crookston, Ben and his wife DeAnn moved onto the current farmstead.
Today, Ben Loll and his brother Josiah Loll farm as separate entities but share equipment and land to operate more efficiently. They raise corn, soybeans and sugarbeets. Ben’s two oldest sons, Jonah and Oliver, have begun farming and play an integral role during the busy spring and fall seasons. The family has worked with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service through several land stewardship programs, focusing on improving soil health.
The Loll family is deeply involved in their community. DeAnn homeschools their four children and serves as a leader of the Campbell Busy Bees 4-H Club. Their children have been active in 4-H for eight years, and DeAnn serves as the adult advisor to the Wilkin County 4-H treasurer.
Ben and DeAnn are members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Campbell, where Ben serves as president of the church council. He also serves on the school board, as a volunteer firefighter and first responder, as a Champion Township supervisor, on the Wilkin County Extension Committee and Planning Commission, and as the junior high basketball coach for the Tri-State Tigers.
