Use this toolkit to help families move towards financial recovery after a disaster.
These videos will help you better understand the challenges that families face on the road toward financial recovery and start conversations with families on disaster recovery efforts.
Disaster resource fairs
Those that experience a disaster face many challenges on the path to recovery.
What is a disaster recovery resource fair? It is a local event for people to access important disaster-related programs and services at one location. Holding a disaster recovery resource fair may reduce barriers such as:
- Not able to track down needed services because a person does not have reliable transportation or communication device (computer, phone, etc.)
- Not having the time or energy to track down all the needed services
- Not knowing where and how to get started — feeling overwhelmed
