Join 4-H

Anyone in kindergarten through one year past high school (grade 13) can join 4-H. 

As a 4-H member, you can participate in clubs, after-school programs, leadership trips, showcase and judging experiences and more!

Your membership will last for one 4-H program year, Oct. 1 through Sept. 30. You will then need to re-enroll each year to maintain your membership.

Minnesota 4-H does not collect a state membership fee; however, some local 4-H programs or clubs may have dues. Financial assistance may be available. 

How to enroll

1. Get in touch with local 4-H staff near you to learn more about 4-H and how to get started, or fill out an interest form to have someone contact you.
2. Complete your enrollment online or with a paper form (see instructions for each below).

Enroll with a paper form

Instead of enrolling online, you can enroll by completing a paper enrollment form. 

• Print, complete and hand sign an enrollment form:

• Submit your completed, hand-signed enrollment form to your local 4-H office or scan/email to [email protected].

Enroll as an independent member

To be an independent member, you must be in sixth grade or older and have at least two years of 4-H club experience. You'll need to identify an adult 4-H volunteer to act as your mentor when you re-enroll.

You'll begin your re-enrollment the same way that club members do, but you must also complete an independent member process that is designed to strengthen the partnership between you and your mentor.
