Glen and Melinda Groth
Glen and Melinda Groth were both raised on farms in neighboring counties and were actively involved in agriculture through FFA and 4-H during their youth, though their paths did not cross at the time. After college, Glen returned to his family’s dairy farm to begin his farming career. Melinda spent several years working at Mayo Clinic as a senior research technologist before eventually returning to agriculture.
After marrying in 2014, Glen and Melinda merged their farming operations and made their home in Ridgeway, Minnesota. Following an expansion of their crop acres, they discontinued their dairy enterprise in 2019. Today, they raise soybeans, corn, hay, and occasionally small grains and canning crops. They also raise replacement heifers and feeder cattle, provide custom farming services and operate a seed dealership.
Glen and Melinda are active leaders in the agricultural community. They are members of the Minnesota Farm Bureau, Minnesota Soybean Growers Association, Minnesota Corn Growers Association and Winona FFA Alumni. Melinda was a founding member of the American Farm Bureau’s Promotion and Engagement Committee and has served on the Winona County Extension Committee. She currently leads the Pleasant Busy Bees 4-H Club and serves as secretary for Ridgeway Parents and Community, which supports the local elementary school. She also serves as an election judge and is a former township board officer.
Glen serves on the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council, chairs the Northern Soy Marketing Board, serves as president of the Winona County Farm Bureau and is a council member at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ridgeway.
