Session 1:  Everything to Know About Growing Carrots

In this presentation, you will learn how to grow carrots in Minnesota. Master Gardener Jeff Mehr, will talk about the different types of carrots including: how and when to plant, what to do in the growing season and harvest. Jeff grew up with a large family on a small farm in rural Roscoe, MN.  At an early age, he learned the joy derived from growing food vital to our health and well-being. Jeff has been gardening all his life. He has been a Master Gardener since 1999 and has since presented on a variety of topics focusing on herbs, garlic, and vegetables.

Session 2: Gardening in Drought Conditions

The last couple of summers have been challenging to garden due to drought conditions. The presentation will cover plant care and a little bit about lawn and trees during droughts from Master Gardener Joan Andersen. Joan has been a Master Gardener since 2000 and loves sharing information about plants. She grows perennials, annuals and vegetables in her gardens. In the past 3 years she has added a lot of natives/pollinators to her yard to attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

Workshop is free, but pre-registration is necessary.  Registration is limited.
