Private pesticide applicators

Private applicators apply pesticides to lands or sites they own, rent, or manage for the production of an agricultural commodity. Typically farmers and their families who apply restricted use pesticides (RUP) to their land can apply for a Private Certification.

2022 recertification workshops are closed

Choose one of the exam options to certify in 2022.

You must take the online or mail-in exam by Oct. 31 if:

  • You are a new applicator and you want to become certified.
  • Your license has expired and you are not currently certified.

Find study manuals and exam information below. In-person and online workshops are offered in January and February. Information and registration will be added to this page in December.
