Chesney B. is an 8th grade 4-H'er and has been in the program since she was a kindergartener. She is a member of the Lakeside Victory Club and participates in horse and static projects. She has held roles as President and Vice President for both her club and the horse project.
Chesney's favorite 4-H event is the county fair. "It is what we prepare for all year and when we get to show off our hard work and improvements. It is what determines if we get to attend state horse show and is a fun, crazy and very tiring week," she says. Her favorite 4-H memory was winning Grand Champion Showmanship (with a broken arm!)
We asked Chesney how 4-H has made an impact on her. She says it has made her responsible and hard working. It has also provided her an opportunity to work with her horses, lead others and make long lasting friendships. Volunteers have also made an impact on Chesney. She says, "They are what makes it all work! We are very fortunate in Isanti County to have such dedicated volunteers."
Her advice for those considering joining 4-H? "Do it! You won't regret it."
