All 4-H youth grades 6 + who intend to show their livestock at the county /state fair
4-H youth coming out of grade 6 and above planning to show their 4-H livestock projects at the Cass County Fair in June in the hopes of moving onto the Minnesota State Fair 4-H Showcases must complete either a 3-hour, in-person Livestock Quality Assurance & Ethics (LQA&E) or a 1-hour, virtual Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) training prior to the Cass County Fair in order to move on to the Minnesota State Fair. Upon the completion of the training, youth will receive a certificate of completion that is good for 3 fair seasons with the completion of LQA&E or 1 fair season with YQCA. These trainings help youth provide excellent care for their food animals and ensure a high level of food safety to consumers. 4-H designed these trainings to enhance the educational experience of 4-H animal science projects. Training will be held at the Crow Wing County Land Services Building, Meeting Rooms 1 & 2, 326 Laurel St., Brainerd MN 56401 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Cost is $5 to cover a snack and lunch
