4-H clover Isanti 4-H'ers receive accolades from Minnesota Deer Hunters Association

On February 25th the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association (MDHA) held their 36th Annual Banquet. At this banquet, Isanti County 4-H'ers Emily and Landon H. received a once in a lifetime award: The Forkhorn Achievement Award.

MDHA describes the Forkhorn Achievement Award as a way to recognize and award youth who have discovered the traditions of MDHA through volunteering. This award is only given to two youth in Minnesota each year. MDHA says, "Those highlighted tonight are individuals who are shining examples to the rest of us, and because of their humble attitudes, they don't even realize how special they are to the rest of us and to MDHA." These recipients are nominated by their fellow MDHA members.

Emily and Landon's fellow members say they have shown the most dedication to being active members of the MDHA. From helping process hides, to manning the booth at the county fair and participating in the Youth Day event, they are always volunteering. "Overall, they both display the qualities and dedication that we want to see for MDHA members, especially young kids, and I think they set a good example for other youngsters in the area," they added.

In addition to Emily and Landon's award, their grandfather also received the Distinguished Service Award.

Congratulations to Emily and Landon on this amazing achievement! We are proud to have you as part of our Isanti County 4-H family.
