Youth interested in the clothing project who are in 3rd grade and above are invited to join our skilled volunteers March 26, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. for a clothing project workshop at the Rice County 4-H Building, 1900 Fairgrounds Drive #17, Faribault, MN 55021. During the two hours together, they will go over different sewing skills and do some work with the Clothes You Buy books. More specifically, youth will learn how to sew clean seams, how to use different stitches, and when to use them. They will explore vocabulary that comes with the sewing project, learn how to read a pattern and how to put your Clothes You Buy book together.
Participants should bring their sewing machine, machine manual, thread and scrap material if they have any. If a sewing project is in progress, that can also come with. Beginner sewers should plan to have an adult accompany them.
If you have any questions you would like addressed at this workshop, be sure to enter them when registering on 4HOnline or connect with Kelly Chadwick, Extension educator, chadw021@umn.edu or 507-332-6163.
