4-H clover Apply for Scott County 4-H scholarships

The Scott County 4-H Animal Science Project Development Committee (PDC) is offering two scholarships for Scott County 4-H members pursuing higher education.

Richard J. “Dick” Ames 4-H Memorial Scholarship

Up to four recipients will be chosen to receive a one-time $500 scholarship at the scholarship committee's discretion.

Applicants must:

  • Be a current or past Scott County 4-H member.
  • Be enrolled or plan to enroll in a post-secondary education institute for the 2023-2024 school year. An official transcript must be submitted after the 2023 fall semester.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for people in their school, community and/or world at large through community service.
  • Demonstrate the same joyful spirit, kind and compassionate love for people and community that Dick exemplified throughout his life.
  • Complete and submit a scholarship application by Friday, April 15, 2023.

Scott County 4-H Animal Science Project Development Committee (PDC) Auction Scholarship

Up to four recipients will be chosen to receive a one-time $500 scholarship at the scholarship committee's discretion.

Applicants must:

  • Be actively enrolled in Scott County 4-H for the current program year.
  • Be a high school senior or one-year post-high school.
  • Attend an accredited college, university, community college or technical college for the 2023-2024 school year.
  • Have shown 4-H livestock (beef, dairy, goat, sheep, rabbit, alpaca/lama, poultry, swine) at Scott County Fair at least once within the previous two years.
  • Have displayed leadership and service in their community and 4-H.
  • Complete the scholarship application by Friday. April 14, 2023.
  • Complete the scholarship interview process. Interviews may be conducted online. Interviews will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Once applications are received, a signup will go out to reserve interview appointments.
