The Scott County 4-H Animal Science Project Development Committee (PDC) is offering two scholarships for Scott County 4-H members pursuing higher education.
Richard J. “Dick” Ames 4-H Memorial Scholarship
Chosen recipients will receive a one-time scholarship, minimum of $500, at the discretion of the scholarship committee.
Applicants must:
- Be a current or past Scott County 4-H member.
- Be currently enrolled or plan to be enrolled in a post-secondary education institute for the 2025-2026 school year. (An official transcript must be submitted after the 2025 fall semester.)
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for people in their school, community, and/or world at large through community service.
- Demonstrate the same joyful spirit, kind and compassionate love for people and community that Dick exemplified through his life.
- Complete and submit a scholarship application which consists of a cover sheet and essay by Monday, May 5, 2025.
Scott County 4-H Animal Science Project Development Committee (PDC) Auction Scholarship
Chosen recipients will receive a one time scholarship, minimum of $500, at the discretion of the scholarship committee.
Applicants must:
- Be actively enrolled in Scott County 4-H for the current program year.
- Be a high school senior or one year post high school.
- Must have shown 4-H Livestock (beef, dairy, goat, sheep, rabbit, alpaca/lama, poultry, swine) at Scott County Fair at least once within the previous two (2) years.
- Have displayed leadership and service in their community and in 4-H.
- Complete scholarship application by Monday, May 5, 2025.
- Complete scholarship interview process. Interviews may be conducted online. Scholarship interviews will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Scott County Extension office. Once applications are received, a sign-up will be sent to applicants to reserve interview appointments after the application deadline closes.
