All youth in grades 6 and up participating at state fair or in the Northeast 4-H Livestock Show as a livestock exhibitor in beef, dairy, sheep, swine, poultry, rabbits, meat and dairy goat and lama must have completed Livestock Quality Assurance (LQA) training.
Certification is required prior to the county fair qualifying show.
Training options
There are two ways to complete the training.
YQCA - online
An online 1-hour youth quality care of animals training offered via distance learning. This certification is valid for one fair season.
There is a cost with this training.
LQA&E - in-person
Attend one of the LQA&E trainings offered in-person throughout the state.
There may be a cost with this training. The in-person training is good for three fair seasons.
