  • Judging Assistants may be adults or responsible youth leaders (grade 6+).
  • Judging Assistants do NOT need prior 4-H experience.
  • 4-H youth who would like to be a Judging Assistant are able to get their judging completed AND be an assistant. Reach out to the Extension Office if you have any questions or concerns.
  • Judging Assistants will receive more information via email in addition to training upon arrival.
  • A meal will be provided.

Food Stand Shifts

We need YOU to make this fundraiser a success - Thanks for your support of Brown County 4-H! This booklet will prepare you for your food stand shift. Where do the Food Stand Funds go? To the Brown County 4-H Federation, where we use them to support 4-H outreach and promotion, fund state showcase trips, sponsor local events, and more year-round.

  • 4-H youth are expected to work one full shift in the 4-H Food Stand. The Brown County 4-H Federation has pledged to cover ONE program fee per exhibitor, per showcase in a given 4-H year to youth who fulfill at least one shift of service at the Brown County 4-H Food Stand.
  • One parent/adult is expected to stay and help in the Food Stand with their child/children who have not completed 7th grade, but we need any willing adults to help. We always appreciate extended family members who volunteer.
  • Friday and Saturday are our busiest nights, and in order to continue being successful we need to make sure we are fully staffed for those shifts. Let’s fill these up first!
  • Please see the Food Stand Handbook for more details.
  • Sign up via z.umn.edu/bcFoodStand

Exhibit ideas

Register to exhibit with 4-H

4-HOnline and FairEntry are different websites. Enrolling in 4-HOnline does not equate to fair registration.

  • FairEntry exhibit registration deadline: June 30th @ 11:59 p.m.

Exhibitors not registered by the posted deadline will be subject to the Competitive Events: deadlines, consequences, and exemptions table.

Do not wait until the deadline to register. You may begin your registration, log out, and return to log into FairEntry and make edits until the registration deadline.

Looking for a specific class and not finding it? Don’t know which class to enter your exhibit into? Please reference the Premium Book first, then contact the Extension Office via email (mnext-brown@umn.edu) or phone (507-794-7993) during business hours with questions or concerns.
