2024 CCMG Spring Class Series

Join the Chisago County Master Gardeners as we present a series of webinars in January and February of 2024! There is no cost to attend and registration is as easy as clicking on the links behind each of the class descriptions to register. January 9 – Multi Level Pollinator Gardens, Dawn White Explore the concept of adding shrub & small tree layers to your landscape focusing on plants producing blossoms throughout the growing season.   Many of these plants support pollinators as much as some of our perennials and annuals do.  Their larger structure and longer life add biodiversity, sustainability, water retention, etc. https://umn.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_yBoO4dRORd-zkvKVHGfSLQ

January 23 – Lawn Care Basics, CCMG Greg Haas Join us to learn about a common sense, research-based look at turf management for the average homeowner. February 13 – When and How to Best Use Pesticides – CCMG Sue KirchnerSometimes we have a problem that can only be solved through using a pesticide, Japanese Beetles for example. This course reviews the most common pesticides available to consumers.  Pesticides are a broad category covering insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and bio-agents among others. February 27 – Battle of the Weeds, CCMG Program Coordinator Sue Humble & CCMG Dave Smith Dave and Sue will cover some weed disasters, some of the most frustrating weeds common to their own gardens in Chisago County, and growth habits of weeds and what makes them so hard to get rid of.   We will also share some of the tools and tricks we have found to try to control these frustrating invaders just in time to get out there and start fighting them in the spring! https://umn.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_xFbSOxtMQu-FLfKNsKiXjw
