Do you hope to exhibit with 4-H at the Minnesota State Fair? All 4-H livestock exhibitors must complete livestock quality assurance training. Livestock Quality Assurance training helps youth provide excellent care for their food animals and ensure a high level of food safety to consumers. We designed it to enhance the educational experience of 4-H animal science projects.
Rice County is hosting a LQA&E Training - Levels 1 & 2 in-person session on Saturday, April 29, 2023, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (registration begins at 8:45 a.m.) at the First English Lutheran Church, 204 2nd St. NW, Faribault, MN 55021. This training is valid for three fair seasons. Registration will be taken though April 26 or until spots are filled and can be found here. Registration prior to the event is highly recommended as spots cannot be guaranteed the day of. It is free for members of Freeborn, Rice, Steele and Waseca counties. Participants outside these 4 counties will be $10 and payments will be accept once registration has been completed. You can be sent payment to Rice County 4-H, 1900 Fairgrounds Dr. #17, Faribault, MN 55021.
If you are unable to attend this training there are other trainings around the state of MN. Youth can also take Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) online. It is valid for one fair season and costs $12.00.
