2/11/23 – In Person, 9-11:30am, General Vegetable Gardening - Dianne Patras-Smith, CCMG Saturday class. Anyone can grow a garden ~ right? As many are faced with making our grocery dollars stretch, the natural alternative is to grow your own. For some this is all brand new – for others – second nature. This class is great for either a beginner or an expert. Dianne will cover the basics from soils and amendments, site selection and preparation, to seed choices and watering tips and techniques for your soil type. Bring your questions and Dianne will help you get started to a healthy growing season. 2/21/23 – In Person, 7-8:30pm Creating a Cutting Garden - Angela Mallery, CCMG This course reviews the process for planting a garden for the purpose of creating beautiful bouquets for you, your family and friends. We review plant options from annuals, perennials and bushes. It also includes how to create bouquets for all seasons. 3/21/23 – In Person, 7-8:30pm Growing Strawberries & Raspberries - Dianne Patras-Smith, CCMG Dianne will describe the basics needed to plant, grow, sustain and harvest a good crop of Raspberries and Strawberries. Everything from soils, site, fertilizing, disease problems, to harvesting will be covered. She will also talk a little about the new insect problem facing our soft fruit crops. 4/15/23 – In Person, 9-11:30am Landscape Design ($10.00 fee) - Sue Kirchner & Dawn White, CCMGs This is a Saturday class. 9-11:30 This class will help you create a functional, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor space for your home yard. We will discuss designing gardens based on level of maintenance, cost and environmental adaptation. The course will include time to work on your design. Bring the measurements of the area you want to design or photographs for discussion. |
