Cattle in your aspen woodlands: Growing forage and wood products (video)

Join University of Minnesota Extension Educator and Cattle Producer Eric Mousel, and Forest Ecologist Sawyer Scherer, Blandin Paper Company as they explore the health of the aspen forest, forage and water quality on his family farm.

Those who practice silvopasture—an agroforestry practice that combines sustainable management of forage, livestock and woodlands—are helping to lower the concentration of atmospheric greenhouse gases while raising cattle for income, improving their woodlands and improving water resources. Managing woodlands for timber and forage can increase the time cattle spend grazing and reduce the amount of hay or other feed used.
