Disaster recovery resource fairs

Those that experience a disaster face many challenges on the path to recovery.

What is a disaster recovery resource fair? It is a local event for people to access important disaster-related programs and services at one location. Holding a disaster recovery resource fair may reduce barriers such as:

  • Not able to track down needed services because a person does not have reliable transportation or communication device (computer, phone, etc.).
  • Not having the time or energy to track down all the needed services.
  • Not knowing where and how to get started — feeling overwhelmed.
