Each day, 33 children are injured in an agricultural related incident and every 3 days, a child dies in such an incident. University of Minnesota Extension is offering a Youth Farm Safety Day to educate youth about farm hazards and how to prevent farm accidents from happening.
Youth participants will have the opportunity to learn with hands-on activities, demonstrations from presenters, and hear firsthand stories about farm accidents from first responders. Youth will get to practice using fire extinguishers and practice first aid, among other hands-on activities. Presenters include partners from the Faribault Fire Department, Nerstrand Fire Department, Steele Waseca Electrical Co-op, University of Minnesota Extension, and more!
This free event for youth ages 8 and above will be held at the Rice County 4-H Building on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm at the Rice County 4-H Building, 1900 Fairgrounds Dr #17, Faribault, MN 55021.
