Youth in grades 6+ will meet virtually on Mondays in November to write together, share their work and connect with other writers around Minnesota. I have never written a novel before. Is this club for me? If you have a passion to write, then yes! While we will be challenging all youth to finish their novel during our club experience in November, the ultimate goal is to connect youth and inspire them to go further in their writing skills. No matter how much you are able to write, our goal is that all youth will feel a sense of belonging, accomplishment and learn something new. Timeline October You will receive prompts, plot sheets, character sheets and basic guides to starting your story, introducing your characters and setting a word count goal for your story. Don’t worry if you don’t get this done before we begin meeting in November. November Meetings will be once a week on Monday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Meetings will include a time to connect with other writers, be supported in your writing journey and talk about writing challenges that will help you develop your writing to the next level. December Join us for our showcase celebrating the culmination of your work. Youth will get a chance to share a portion of their book and explore opportunities to self-publish your new creation.
