Watonwan County is offering an in-person Livestock Quality Assurance & Ethics (LQA&E) training for levels 1 and 2 on Thursday, June 22. Training will take place 6-9 p.m., with check-in beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James.
LQA&E training must be taken by youth in grades 6 and up exhibiting 4-H livestock to be eligible for the Minnesota State Fair.
Grade eligibility for levels:
- Level 1 is for grades 3-5 and first-year exhibitors in higher grades.
- Level 2 is for grades 6-8 (that previously completed level 1) and 9-13.
In-person certification is good for three fair seasons, so training must be taken every three years.
