NAMI Minnesota and University of Minnesota Extension are partnering to offer suicide-prevention classes tailored to farming communities. Our aim is better equip agricultural communities to identify and help people who may be having thoughts of suicide and to change the public perception of this issue.
We will offer a 90-minute suicide prevention program called QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) to help individuals learn the three steps anyone can take to help prevent suicide. A certificate of attendance is available for this class and will be sent after you fill out the evaluation.
This class has been approved by the Board of Social Work to provide 1.5 CEUs upon completion. This 1.5-hour class meets the continuing education requirement for teachers.
