Prairies and Potholes - Ney Nature Center
Ney Nature Center is located on the cusp of the Northern Great Plains, so studying the prairie biome is a short drive away. Through this course, you will be immersed in the wonders of the tallgrass prairie and all of its inhabitants. The Lower Minnesota River also has a storied past with glaciers and their effect on the landscape. Late summer is the perfect time to examine the relationships of the flora and fauna of this ecosystem.
Much of this class will occur on the property of the Ney Nature Center, with field trips to various sites in the area. This class will take place on Tuesday nights, 5:30-8:30 p.m., starting August 4 and ending October 13.
There will be two all-day field trips on Saturdays, August 15 and September 12, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
