Minnesota 4-H Snowscapes Photo Challenge

Minnesota 4-H photography invites youth in grades K-13 to get outside and explore the winter wonderland around them! Capture snowscapes and submit your best image with an explanation of why it’s important to you.

How it works

Choose your best snow picture (with no or minimal editing) taken during the 2022-2023 4-H year and write up to two sentences about why it’s special to you.

Submit your jpg or jpeg image and statement via email to fourhphoto@umn.edu by 11:59 p.m. CST on Jan. 31, 2023.

In the email, use the subject line "Snowscapes 4-H Photo Challenge" and in the body, please include the member’s name, grade and county. Once your email submission has been received and your registration verified, you will receive a confirmation email. Note: Please be patient with receiving the confirmation email as it is not automated - a staff member has to do it.

Rules

• All youth (grades K-13) are welcome but must be enrolled in 4-H. Join 4-H! 
• 4-H members must be the ones taking pictures.
• Photos must be taken during the 2022-2023 4-H year. 
• Everyone that participates in the photography challenge will have their names entered in a random drawing for prizes.
• Be creative! Volunteer photography judges will provide feedback and recognize the top-quality images.
• Submitted photos will be shared through an online slideshow.
