This training was designed to enhance the educational experience of 4-H animal science projects.LQA&E training is required for all state fair exhibitors. Youth must provide the Extension office with proof of the completed training by the date set for your county to be eligible for a State Fair trip. Youth may complete an in-person training, which is good for three fair seasons, or the online YQCA (Youth for the Quality Care of Animals) training, valid for one fair season. Which level should I register for?Grades 3-5 - Do not need to take quality assurance training. *Grades 6-8 - Take Level 1 if you are certifying for the first time. Take Level 2 if you have previously been certified.Grades 9-11 - Certify at Level 2.Grades 12-13 - Have four options: (1) Certify at Level 2, (2) Complete an animal science class at a two- or four-year accredited college (and provide proof to the Extension office), (3) assist the county in teaching their 4-H LQA&E classes, (4) submit documentation of your leadership contributions to a 4-H animal science project meeting or workshop. Audience

4-H livestock exhibitors in grades 3 and up. 

Cost

Free for all youth in Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Le Sueur, Nicollet and Sibley counties.

Registration

Registration is available in 4-H Online from March 4 through May 31. For assistance, refer to the event registration guide or contact your local Extension Educator.
