Sherburne 4-H has a variety of project kits available and each kit has a virtual session you can join to learn even more. Explore the full circle of color by using dye to make your own colorful bandanas! Learn about color theory through the color wheel and discover plants, minerals and other organic materials that can be used to dye and paint material. Observe the differences between natural and artificial pigments to learn what produces the best color. Use what you learn to make natural dyes using supplies found at home or in your backyard. Kits will be available beginning June 15 at the Elk River Library or the Sherburne County Extension office Sessions June 15, 6-7 p.m.: Seed bombs and guerilla gardening June 24, 4-5 p.m.: True colors: Natural and artificial dyes with the color wheel June 29, 6-7 p.m.: Take a hike July 29, 4-5 p.m.: Bird friends: Birdwatching and DIY birdfeeder Aug. 19, 6-7 p.m.: Blow it! Audience

Youth who have completed grades K-5 in Sherburne, Mille Lacs, Benton, Wright, Anoka, Stearns, Hennepin and Isanti Counties.

Registration

Registration deadline is one week prior to each virtual session. For help with registration, use this guide or contact Kellie Bossen at kbossen@umn.edu.

If you are new to 4-H, please select the “Virtual 4-H” club for your county. In the projects field, choose "self-determined" and any other relevant project areas you have an interest in.

Register a week before the session in order to receive your supplies in time.
