Independent Natural Food Retailers Association (INFRA) sees a future where independent food retailers are thriving at the heart of every community, strengthening their local economies, and committed to making healthy, sustainable food accessible to all. Ruthanne Atkinson, growth operations manager, and Sara Fulton-Koerbling, retail marketing strategist, will introduce the association and how it works with members to strengthen their businesses. They will share effective marketing strategies for independent food retailers, including promotional marketing, social media, and community engagement tactics.

This event is part of Shelf Life: Resources and strategies for rural grocery, a monthly webinar series addressing critical issues and opportunities facing Minnesota’s rural grocers. Sessions will be held on the first Wednesday of the month over Zoom from 3 to 4 p.m., starting Wednesday, April 2, 2025, through October 1, 2025.
Rural grocer owners, managers and staff are encouraged to attend to connect with University resources, expertise and each other.
