The Great African Safari

Take a virtual trip to Africa and explore its unique creatures, crafts and creations from your home. This is for people in grades kindergarten through fifth.

Each week we will have new experiences for you. You'll connect with other 4-H'ers and learn together.

What do you need to participate?
- Weekly supplies found at home
- Computer/laptop/smartphone with internet connection and a video recorder
- Internet connection
- Books to research and learn more about the topics we explore (optional)
The Great African Safari begins on June 15 and ends July 17. You can join our live call on Thursdays or move at your own pace if your schedule conflicts with the lessons.
Introduction. We will meet all of our new friends and learn how to use some of the tools that we will use throughout the program.
Travel to Africa. We will learn about countries in Africa, create a grassland and discover the cheetah.
African writing. Learn about hieroglyphics, cave art and the amazing giraffe.
Arts and crafts. Learn about the powerful elephant, how to grow peanuts and design your own masks and jewelry.
Entertainment. Learn about the hippopotamus, create your own rain sticks and drums and design your own board game.
