Whether you are new to learning about plants or a seasoned professional wanting to hone your skills, this course will provide helpful aquatic plant identification information.
Learn how to identify lake and wetland plants using live samples. We will have species representing native and invasive, broad- and narrow-leaved pondweeds, macroalgae, submersed plants, floating-leaf plants and emergent plants, among others.
The workshop is hosted in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
There is an optional test at the end of the session. Consultants who complete the workshop and pass the test qualify to be on the DNR listing of Surveyors of Aquatic Plants in Lakes and will be acknowledged on the Minnesota DNR website. Non-professionals are also welcome to take the test.
If you are a beginner, we strongly encourage you to attend the optional 8 a.m. introduction to aquatic plant identification session.
