4-H clover 4-H video production workshop: Immerse yourself in storytelling

Do you love making and sharing videos? Minnesota 4-H and FilmNorth put together a five week course to up your video production game! Learn from actual Twin Cities filmmakers and professionals in the industry. This course will include four one-hour virtual sessions, a three-day in-person immersion event and a one-day film festival. Attendees must have some experience with film making.

You will learn video production skills as a group and you will also break into small groups to get one-on-one feedback. Video production is a growing career choice and learning how to tell a story through video is a fantastic skill to have no matter what field you are interested in going into.

Virtual sessions

July 26, Aug. 2, 16 and 23 from 4 p.m.-5 p.m.

In-person overnight session

Aug. 10 at 1 p.m. - Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds

Film festival

Aug. 28 at the 4-H Building on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.  Attend virtually or in-person.


Youth entering grades 9-12 who have some prior experience with film production and editing.


$50 includes six meals, lodging and entrance onto the fairgrounds for the film festival.

Minnesota 4-H never wants cost to be a reason that you cannot attend a program. Contact your local extension office for scholarship information.


All youth who attend must also be enrolled in 4-H. Registration deadline is July 21.
