Wednesday, July 17

boy looking at soybean roots

Interested in learning more about the world of agronomy? Join 4-Hers in grades 3 and up plus parents interested in learning more about agronomy for a 4-H Agronomy Tour to dive into all things agronomy! We will have hands on sessions and tours that will teach us more about the agronomy industry here in Minnesota. You will learn new tidbits that will be useful in 4-H projects, future careers and more!

Facility Tours will include a variety of area agronomy facilities that each play a key role in the agriculture industry. Tour in Swift County includes: Chippewa Valley Ethanol Company, a small-town company that produces over 50 million gallons of ethanol a year; Louriston Dairy, 9,500-head facility to explore how agronomy plays a role in feedstuffs; and Falk’s Seed Farm, a full service seed dealer that powers their seed plant energy needs with renewable energy.
