In Meeker County, 23 participants have graduated from the Meeker in Motion program. Meeker in Motion is a leadership training program that builds individual leadership skills, community knowledge, and strengthened relationships in and across Meeker County.

The 2019-20 program was the first offering of Meeker in Motion and welcomed its first group of graduates in September, 2020. Mary Ann Hennen and Catherine Rasmussen are the lead educators for Meeker in Motion. The program is sponsored by the Litchfield Chamber of Commerce, Meeker County and its County Extension Committee, local scholarship funders and participant tuition.

Mary Ann commented that “we will forever be impressed with the passion, skills and commitment of the local Steering Team to see that the program was successful from its relatively speedy launch to its extended finish amidst a global pandemic. Leadership is alive and well in Meeker County.”

Extension provides alumni programming to all graduates of Extension leadership programs. Christy Kallevig, alumni program leader, notes that this alumni network seeks to create mutual benefit. "Leaders in Minnesota's communities are making a difference, and we want to continue to be there to provide education and support. More importantly, these community leaders can be there for each other, sharing ideas and solving problems together."
