Extension celebrates the class of 2020 from nine community leadership programs

October 28, 2020

The University of Minnesota Extension welcomed over 200 graduates from community leadership programs across Minnesota as alumni this year. “Communities partner with Extension's leadership programs because they value a pipeline of new leadership that is available for government, non-profits, faith communities and other community groups,” says Holli Arp, program leader for Extension’s leadership and civic engagement team.

“Extension educators design and deliver the educational programs, but community organizations, volunteers, and local staff are the heartbeat of these programs. We are extremely proud to work with them to invest in the future of their communities.”

— Holli Arp

Despite this challenging and uncertain year, our new alumni were resilient in completing their community leadership program. Watch highlights and learn more about some of these programs and their 2020 graduates from the below links and video.

Extension provides alumni programming to all graduates of Extension leadership programs. Christy Kallevig, alumni program leader, notes that this alumni network seeks to create mutual benefit.

"Leaders in Minnesota's communities are making a difference, and we want to continue to be there to provide education and support. More importantly, these community leaders can be there for each other, sharing ideas and solving problems together."

— Christy Kallevig
